We are pleased to announce that UNESCO will be a co-host for the Icelandic Wellbeing Economy Forum this week in Iceland. As a global leader in promoting peace, cultural understanding, and sustainable development, UNESCO’s involvement will significantly enrich the discussions surrounding a more inclusive and equitable wellbeing economy.

Gustavo Merino, Director for Social Policies at UNESCO, will be chairing Plenary III on "Well-Being is Smart Economics" from 11:00 - 12:00, tomorrow at the Forum. With extensive experience in social policy, Gustavo has played a pivotal role in shaping UNESCO's efforts to advance social inclusion and sustainable development. His leadership in social policies has made a significant impact in fostering global partnerships and advancing initiatives that promote collective wellbeing (https://www.unesco.org/en).

Eleonora Lamm, a distinguished bioethics and law expert, is a key member of the Forum’s Advisory Board. With over 18 years of experience in human rights, gender equality, science, and ethics, Lamm brings invaluable expertise to the discussions. Holding a PhD in Bioethics and Law from the University of Barcelona, she has contributed significantly to international policy advising, working with organizsations such as UNESCO, UN Women, the ILO, and OHCHR.

We look forward to the rich insights and collaborative dialogue that UNESCO’s participation will bring to the event. Together, we will explore how rethinking economic paradigms can lead to a more prosperous and equitable future for all.
