JA PreventNCD
The Joint Action on Cancer and other NCDs prevention – action on health determinants - JA PreventNCD is a four-year European collaboration, co-funded by the EU Health Programme, involving 25 countries and more than 100 partner organizations. Its goal is to reduce the burden of cancer and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs) by strengthening prevention strategies and policies. The project works to address both personal and societal risk factors, minimize fragmentation across Europe, and ensure that the most effective prevention approaches are prioritized.

By tackling social inequalities, monitoring risk factors, and supporting action at both national and European levels, JA PreventNCD contributes to achieving global targets for reducing the NCD burden. The project is closely aligned with Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan and the EU “Healthier Together” NCD Initiative, while also connecting to four Action Grants: ELISAH, FILTERED, PEACHD, and Showup4Health.

The Forum’s Role in Advancing JA PreventNCD
The Wellbeing Economy Forum is an integral part of JA PreventNCD. It provides a platform for leaders, policymakers, youth, researchers, and civil society to explore how economies and societies can place values at the center of decision-making. The Forum emphasizes that wellbeing for all is not created solely in the health sector, but across many sectors, from finance and education to labor, industry, and beyond.

By bringing these perspectives together, the Forum highlights how economic and social policies directly shape health outcomes and equity. Its focus on value-based leadership, sustainable development, and inclusive governance mirrors JA PreventNCD’s mission to prevent NCDs and reduce inequalities. In this way, the Wellbeing Economy Forum amplifies the project’s goals, showing how cross-sector action can strengthen resilience and create healthier, fairer, and more sustainable societies across Europe.
