Chair
Dr. Dóra G. Guðmundsdóttir
The chair of the Wellbeing Economy Forum is Dr. Dóra G. Guðmundsdóttir, the founder of the Forum. Dóra is the Director of Public Health at the Directorate of Health in Iceland. Dora is a trained clinical and organizational psychologist and holds a PhD in public health (epidemiology of wellbeing).

Her research interests focus on the epidemiology of happiness, mental wellbeing, and flourishing. Dora´s interest lies in finding effective ways for individuals, institutions, and societies to flourish. She has a special interest in enhancing evidence-based knowledge in policy-making and interventions.

Her division leads the work on health-promoting communities, workplaces, and schools at the Directorate of Health in Iceland.
​
Her current research projects focus on evaluating wellbeing programs in schools and primary health care. She is affiliated with the Wellbeing Institute Cambridge University and the Director of the Graduate Diploma program on Positive Psychology at the University of Iceland.

Margrét Jóhannsdóttir
Project Manager
Margrét has a BSc in Nursing and Master´s in Public Health, specialising in health and lifestyle. She began her role as a project manager at the Directorate of Health in Iceland in 2024, working on the European project JA PreventNCD, with a primary focus on the Wellbeing Economy.
Bára Mjöll Þórðardóttir
Executive Consultant - Langbrók Consultancy
Bára Mjöll has a MA diploma in Positive Psychology from the University of Iceland, she studied MSc in Business Administration at the University of Iceland and graduated with a BSc in Business Administration from ReykjavÃk University. She is the Co-Owner and Executive Consultant at Langbrók Consultancy.
SoffÃa Sigurgeirsdóttir
General Manager - Langbrók Consultancy
SoffÃa has a MSc in International Relations from London School of Economics, she studied Psychology at University College Dublin and graduated with a BA in Psychology from the University of Iceland. She is the Founder and General Manager at Langbrók Consultancy.​
Gígja Gunnarsdóttir
Project Manager
Gígja, MPH, has worked at the Directorate of Health in Iceland since 2005. She is program manager for the Health Promoting Community (HPC) program, project manager for Climate and co-leader of WP9 (HiAP) in JA PreventNCD. Gígja has represented DOHI in the national Scientific committee for climate change and has led the adaptation of Dahlgren and Whiteheads determinants of health model to Icelandic context. She is National network coordinator for WHO Healthy Cities and the current focus of the work is to highlight synergy and support the implementation of various national policies at local level, addressing challenges and supporting multi-sectoral collaboration to promote health and wellbeing for all people and the planet.
Freyr Guðlaugsson
Project Manager
Freyr holds a Master’s degree in Marketing from Kingston University, London, and brings extensive experience in marketing and communication, with a strong focus on the online ecosystem. He has worked extensively in leadership roles across product management, marketing, analytics, social media, and website management.
He joined the Directorate of Health in Iceland in 2024 and is part of the communication and dissemination team for the European project JA PreventNCD, where Iceland leads the communication and dissemination work in collaboration with Norway.
