Travel to Iceland
Planning your trip to Iceland for the Wellbeing Economy Forum? Here’s everything you need to know about reaching Iceland and getting to Reykjavik, plus tips on accommodation options.
Flights to Iceland
Iceland is well-connected to various global destinations, making it accessible from most major cities. Two primary Icelandic airlines, Icelandair and Play Airlines, offer frequent flights, while additional international carriers also operate routes to and from Iceland, providing a range of options for travelers worldwide.
Getting from the Airport to Reykjavik
Upon arrival at Keflavik International Airport (KEF), located about 50 kilometers from Reykjavik, you have several options to reach the city center:
-
Airport Shuttle Buses: Frequent shuttle services operate between Keflavik Airport and major Reykjavik hotels and bus terminals. Tickets can be purchased in advance or upon arrival.
-
Taxis: Available directly outside the arrivals area, taxis offer a direct route to Reykjavik and can be shared with other travelers.
-
Car Rentals: If you prefer flexibility, several car rental services are available at the airport.
