The passing of Dr. Jane Goodall is deeply saddening. We will honor her by carrying forward her endless wisdom and unwavering hope.

At the Wellbeing Economy Forum in 2024, we were honoured by Jane's online presence. Her vision leaves a lasting impact, guiding our shared efforts to build a fairer, healthier, and more sustainable future:

“Most important of all is to create a new mindset that gives top priority, not to the GDP of a nation, but to the health of its people and of the natural world. In fact, to promote the wellbeing and happiness of the people.”

These words beautifully capture the purpose of the Forum — to shift the focus from economic growth to the wellbeing of people and the planet. She urged governments, corporations, and individuals to respect and protect the natural world, pointing out that “the policy of most major corporations and governments is to pursue short-term profit or personal gain at the expense of the environment.”

As we mourn her passing, we carry forward her call to build a future where the wellbeing of people, animals, and the planet is at the heart of all we do.
